Proverbs 4:5-7
"5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding."
When I was thinking of a slogan to go in this banner position on the site I wanted something from the bible. I have almost always been a wisdom freak, when I was little my mum told me the story of Solomon and how God offered him what ever he wanted. Solomon could have chosen riches or respect, or power but he choose wisdom. I remember mum saying how he made a wise choice, for because of his great wisdom he got all those other things. So for all my life (on and off) I have prayed for wisdom. So the lines, Get Wisdom Get Understanding stuck out to me. I used to run a cell group (a small study group place where you meet friend connect with God etc. www.realthing.org.nz) We had coaches, which were usually older people that helped us and made sure that we were on track etc. They also encouraged us a lot, my coach gave me and my co-leader a verse printed out on a piece of paper about say a year ago. I found it the other day, guess what the verse was. Yep, Proverbs 4:5-7 I thought that was cool, that she came up with that verse for me and I pick the same one for my site Motto.
I once sat down and thought what words would I most like to be described as. this is what I came up with:
Wise
Humble
Honest/trustworthy/dependable (I'm trying to say integrity, but there is not adjective form of the word)
What words would you most like to be described as? strong, smart, self-contained or determined, dashing, dependable ?
Have a think about it and try to live your life so that people would describe you as such. If you want to tell me your three word description or just want to talk just email me at james@jambe.cjb.net.
Talking of three words... JOY My mum taught me this acronym when I was little too, It is so true though If you put Jesus first Others second and Yourself last you will have joy.
Jesus (first)
Others (second)
You (last)
